MOE Academies Fund (MAF) is a component of the third tranche of the Educational Research Funding Programme (ERFP) in FY2013–2017. The MAF is set up to:
  1. Fund development and research projects that will contribute to the enhancement of pedagogical practices or the professional development of teachers;
  2. Encourage the Academies and Language Centres to identify key pedagogical and professional development approaches for researchers to test, evaluate and propose areas for improvement.

We have checked with the Academy of Singapore Teachers (AST). Your proposed study ‘Understanding Instruction for Deep Learning of Physics Concepts: Teacher Learning Communities to Support Adoption and Integration of Computer Simulations’ has been shortlisted for the MOE Academies Fund (MAF) Feedback Session on 5 January 2015, where the Academies/Language Centres and NIE faculty would be there to provide feedback. If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible.

Your presentation (strictly 20 minutes) should focus on the following items:
  1. - relevance of the research/development objectives;
  2. - deliverables/outcomes of the proposals; and
  3. - the methodology employed to collect the data.

In addition, there will be a 5 minutes Q&A session.
Attached are presentation templates which you may refer to during the preparation of your presentation slides.
For research project, please refer to ‘MAF Presentation Template – Research’. For development project, please refer to ‘MAF Presentation Template – Development’.

Please send us a softcopy of your presentation slides by 2nd January 2015, Friday, morning.
