EXHIBITION 26: Innovative Use of ICT in T&L Educational Technology Division (ETD)



Open Source Physics @ Singapore

Senior Specialist(s) and Officer(s) from Ministry of Education Headquarters will showcase Open Source Physics at Singapore (OSP@SG), Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) project that helps teachers bring real-world physics concepts into the classroom.
100 teachers and 10 000 students in Secondary and Junior Colleges since 2012, have benefited from this project.
The 3 unique selling point of the project include
  1. Accessible, anytime, anywhere because students can run the programme on computers (browser, open content, no password nor login required) and mobile devices (browser, apps and e-books).
  2. Adaptable, open-source – it gives teachers and students the freedom to collaborate and share ICT resources for teaching and learning
  3. Affordable, mobile apps developed are free on the Google Play/Book store and Apple App/iBook Store
ICT plays a fundamental role in preparing our students to be Future-ready Learners, deepening subject mastery and developing 21st Century Competencies.
