Jun 23, 2014 - June 27, 2014 in Singapore

This invited Physics Education 20 minutes talk by Loo Kang Wee Lawrence from the Ministry of Education, Educational Technology Division, Singapore aims to spur fellow colleagues to look into open education initiatives such as our Singapore Tracker community open educational resources curated on http://weelookang.blogspot.sg/p/physics-applets-virtual-lab.html based on the works of Open Source Physics Tracker.
Suggestions are made on how physics education can be made more meaningful in particular Practice 1: Ask Questions, Practice 2: Use Models, Practice 5: Mathematical Thinking using Video Modelling supported by evidence based data from video analysis (high pedagogical effort) and Practice 8: Open Communications, referencing the K12 Science Education Framework..
