Tan Chun Ghee Book Prize AY2023-24

Tan Chun Ghee Book Prize AY2023-24

Donated in 2023 by Tan Chun Ghee Memorial Fund, through The Community Foundation of Singapore, the Book Prize will be awarded to a graduating student who has shown exceptional performance in his or her semester-long internship for the degree of Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences or the degree of Bachelor of Science in Physics and Applied Physics in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, NTU.

If you are a student, please select "Self-Nomination" for Question 1 and complete the form.

If you are a faculty supervisor/host organisation supervisor, please select "Nomination from Supervisor" for Question 1 and complete the form.

Qualifications:

Year 4 student, internship

Examples of Achievements and Contributions:

One of Coco's notable achievements is her development of the LOL Energy Diagram Master Template JavaScript Simulation Applet. This simulation is now being used by the Ministry of Education (MOE) to introduce the concept of energy stores and transfers in Physics at G2 and G3 Upper Secondary Level Physics. This tool has proven to be an invaluable educational resource, helping teachers to design their own LOL energy scenarios for their own student's visualization and understanding of complex energy concepts through interactive and engaging simulations. We open sourced her work here for public benefit and use. The simulation is also a building block for across to biology and chemistry (chemical energy transfer etc) and it is designed to be easily modified to be simpler (across to G1 Science) or complex (Advanced level Physics) depending on the needs of MOE. The version is always updated on the URL below.
