Abstract: As we navigate the digital transformation era, revisiting the essence of mathematics education is essential to address the evolving needs of learners. The integration of interactive technologies offers opportunities to reshape the learning landscape, making mathematics more accessible, engaging, and relevant. This paper focuses on the role of Easy Java Simulations (EJS) as a digital tool to enhance conceptual understanding in mathematics education.
In line with the theme of EARCOME 9, “Revisiting the Essence of Mathematics Education in the Era of Digital Transformation,” this paper explores how interactive EJS simulations provide dynamic environments for students to explore and visualize mathematical concepts. Through simulations of topics such as counting, basic arithmetic operations, shapes, patterns, and simple fractions, EJS allows young learners to interact with mathematical concepts, observe real-time changes, and develop a deeper understanding of foundational mathematical ideas.
By leveraging the power of digital transformation, these simulations foster a more student-centered learning experience, where inquiry-based exploration is emphasized.
