🚀 Reimagining Teaching with AI
📅 13 May 2025 :1330- 1700.
🏫 MOE Library Workshop: Integration of AIEd Features in SLS Module Design
Participants: 80 MOEHQ officers
Conducted by Curriculum Resource Management Workgroup (CRMW), SLS Office and AIED Office
Igniting Possibilities with AI-Enabled Pedagogy
Wednesday's workshop wasn't just about showcasing tools—it was about rethinking how we design learning experiences in SLS. Together with 80 passionate educators from across MOEHQ branches, we explored how Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIEd) can support lesson creation and assessment in the Singapore Student Learning Space (SLS).
We kicked things off with a blank SLS module—literally—and built from the ground up. From generating module, sections, and assessments (5 MCQs and 2 open-ended questions) using Authoring Copilot (ACP), to testing Short Answer Feedback Assistant (ShortAnsFA) and enhancing MOE Library resources, participants saw firsthand how SLS built AI features can amplify great pedagogy and increase efficiency, while keep human in the loop.
🔍 Breakout Highlights
- HTML5 Interactive Generators via Gemini 2.5 Pro AI Studio https://aistudio.google.com
- Helper Zipper Tool to convert code into SLS-ready ZIP files to make zipping and renaming files effortless
https://iwant2study.org/lookangejss/slsZipper/Code_to_ZIP_Converter/ - SLS Prompt Testing Tool for HTML5 prototype previews https://moeptt.vercel.app/ in SLS, we engage users in testing and feedback, the eventual HTML5 generator inside SLS natively is scheduled to be deployed end of the year! Many thanks to Joe Tay
- Gamification in SLS: Crafting modules with game stories, branching pathways, XP, collectibles, and digital badges 🏆, many thanks to Harley Li for running the pathway 2 session.
🌟 Special Mentions
- Revealed a working methodology for prompting AI to create auto-scoring simulations and feedback-enabled virtual labs using xAPI—an emerging frontier for self-marking, performance-based assessment through SLS teacher feedback.
- Participants explored both Community Gallery and MOE Library modules to blend the best of ground-up teacher creativity with centrally aligned curricular content. DO keep your CG modules coming, we will nudge HQ to incorporate useful activity/section that teachers have designed! Thank you teachers very much for your support!
💬 A Key Insight
AI doesn't replace teachers—it partners with and amplifies us.
With every prompt crafted, simulation generated, and gamified element explored, we were reminded: the heart of teaching remains in sparking curiosity, engaging minds, and designing learning with intentionality and fun.
🙏 Gratitude
A huge thank you to all facilitators, contributors, and educators who co-created, tested, questioned, and reimagined together. Your commitment ensures that the future of teaching is not only tech-enabled, but also teacher-led.
💡 "When pedagogy leads, technology follows—and when AI aligns with purpose, magic happens in the classroom."
The MOE library module is published here for your self directed learning and we hope it can support your school wide PD https://vle.learning.moe.edu.sg/moe-library/lesson/view/9f4a736e-7765-44bd-b51c-6a5d6987ac2f/cover
Thank you very much for making a difference everyday and together we will make it better.
