summary of the recent URL issues in SLS

IssueWhat HappenedEffect on UsersApproach / Progress

1. Users facing 403/404 error for URLs with mrv (expired in R14)

These are legacy links that should have been deprecated. CPDD was expected to clean them up. Previously, we had been supporting redirection even for such old links.Users encounter 403/404 errors when accessing outdated links.Redirection temporarily reinstated for 90 days. Deployed on 2 July to support transition.

2. Students facing 403 error when accessing teacher URL for MOE Library module

Student and teacher URLs are inherently different. Before R2.2, redirection was in place to guide students from teacher URL to student attempt URL.

Students unable to access MOE Library modules if teacher shares the teacher URL.

Investigating historical reasons for URL separation (e.g. analytics tracking). Temporarily reinstated redirection for student access via teacher URL. (90 days)

2a. Redirection applies only to old URL structure (/lesson/view), not new one (/module/view)Newer MOE Library URLs do not trigger redirection logic yet.

Users accessing modules with new structure still encounter access issues.

Resolution in progress. Exploring ways to implement redirection for new URL structure.
3. Grey screen when teachers access some URLsSpecific technical issue causes loading failure for certain modules.Teachers see blank/grey screen, unable to load content.Fix scheduled for deployment on Fri, 18 July, 11:59pm.

4. Users facing 403/404 error for URLs with /my-library/

Likely linked to urls used by CA/COs under "Manage Modules"

Users accessing old URLs see access errors.

Preliminary investigation ongoing to confirm scope and user roles affected.
