๐Ÿ›‘ What to Do When You Can’t Edit an MOE‑Library Module

Are you unable to edit a module directly from the MOE (SLS) Library? This is by design. MOE-SLS modules in the Library are if already has student attempted data; they cannot be deleted due to presence of student data on the component as must stay intact for learning data analytics. But don’t worry—you can still edit it by duplicating a fresh component without student attempts perhaps due to student self study attempting MOE library:

✅ Step 1: Search and Find the Module in MOE Library

  • Go to Resources → MOE Library in SLS.

  • Search using the full title or keywords—the Library search shows full titles and lets you preview without truncation

✅ Step 2: Enter MOE library "Drive"

✅ Step 3: Duplicate the Component ( which is a no student attempt component)

  • duplicate the component.

  • Use the Pencil icon to enter edit mode

  • Update components, fix typos, insert activities, and do any customization.

✅ Step 4: Save MOE library

  • Save your changes.

  • The benefits of this method is URL is unchanged, it is the easiest method that I know.

  • if the student's attempt of the component is important, do download the student data first ( only Content Approval can request via the 3 dots on the Admin - MOE Library Modules - List View, need to scroll all the way to the right of the "iframed" management moduel view.

๐Ÿค” What If You’re Supposed to Edit?

  • Admin approval or content officer?
You may need to use the admin mode hack: insert /admin/ into certain URLs (e.g. .../moe-library/admin/lesson/view/...) to surface edit or revision tools

  • Community Gallery module?
Some shared modules allow you to edit directly without copying. Confirm ownership or permissions.

  • Still stuck?
