Why WOG Computers Struggle with the Student Learning Space (SLS)

I’ve noticed several recurring challenges when accessing or embedding resources on the Student Learning Space (SLS) from government-managed (WOG) devices. Here’s a breakdown of the main reasons:

1. Strict Browser & Operating System Requirements

SLS officially supports only specific browser and OS versions. As of late July 2025, the supported configurations are:

  • Windows 10 or later with Chrome 128+ or Edge 128+

  • macOS 13+ with Safari 17+ or Chrome 128+

  • iPadOS 17+, iOS 17+, Android 13+, and ChromeOS 128+ with corresponding latest browsers
Using browsers below these versions (or outdated OS) may cause embedding features or file uploads to fail.

2. Security Restrictions and Browser Behavior

WOG-managed devices often have tightened IT policies—this may include disabled JavaScript, blocked cookies, or restrictions on iframes. These limitations can interfere with SLS features, especially embedding external or interactive content.

Recommendations

  • Avoid using WOG as it is still blocking JavaScript, the HTML is strip off the JS scripts.
