When MOE/SLS folks use the phrases “in SLS,” “through SLS,” and “with SLS”, they usually mean slightly different scopes of usage and integration. Here’s a breakdown:

1. Learning in SLS

  • Learning takes place inside the SLS platform https://vle.learning.moe.edu.sg/login itself.

  • Example: Students complete quizzes, view videos, or use interactives embedded directly in a lesson.

2. Learning through SLS

3. Learning with SLS

  • Teachers and students use external tools and activities, but the insights, products, or reflections are brought back into SLS to consolidate learning.

  • Example: Teachers paste data as teacher's comments through ChatGPT for analysis, then upload results into SLS for  reflection.

✅ So the distinction is now:

  • In → self-contained inside SLS.

  • Through → passing whitelisting and integrating via SLS.

  • With → using external tools and add value back into SLS.
