🔗 Linking Google Account in SLS (for Slides/Docs to work)

In Singapore Student Learning Space (SLS), teachers need to link their Google account so that content from Google Slides (and Docs/Drive) can be properly accessed and copied.

✅ Step-by-step guide (clean version)

1. Go to your SLS Profile

  • Log in to SLS
  • Click your profile (top right corner)

2. Link your Google account

  • Look for:
    • Connected accounts / Third-party integrations
  • Select:
    • Link Google account

3. Sign in to Google

  • Choose your Google account (MOE / personal depending on setup)
  • Grant permissions when prompted

4. Confirm linking

  • You should see:
    • Google account successfully linked in SLS

🔄 What happens after linking

Once linked:

👉 SLS can:

  • authenticate you with Google
  • access permitted files
  • copy Google Slides/Docs into your linked Google Drive

👉 This enables:

  • reuse of resources
  • proper loading of Google Slides
  • smoother integration into lessons

❌ If NOT linked

You may experience:

  • Google Slides not loading
  • blank screen / errors
  • inability to copy resources
  • access denied silently

⚠️ Important notes (worth telling teachers)

  • Linking does not bypass SLS security fully
    • some embeds may still fail
  • Best reliability:
    • open Google Slides in new tab
  • Permissions still matter:
    • set to “Anyone with link can view”

💡 Simple explanation for teachers

To use Google Slides in SLS, you need to link your Google account in your SLS profile. This allows SLS to authenticate you and copy the slides into your Google Drive so they can be used properly.
