Abstract

This lecture-workshop aims to introduce teachers to the vast and evolving Open Educational Resources created, role of modelling and some of the learning design features created by the workshop organiser Educational Technology Division Specialist Lawrence WEE Loo Kang, award winner of the Singapore Public Service PS21 Distinguished Star Service Award 2014 and Singapore Public Service PS21 Best Ideator 2012. In the topic of Kinematics, simulations can be customized to suit the requests of teachers and immediately available to all teachers and students through the URL http://iwant2study.org/lookangejss/.

Examples used in this lecture will include

What do you like best about this session?
got to know the open educational resource that can be used in class
The idea behind open source physics, sharing of resources.
Free of charge physics educational resources
Very useful simulations and hands-on demo on how to change the parameters of the simulations to cater to teacher teaching needs and student learning needs.
The idea that the simulations can be edited by teachers to suit the needs of individual groups of teachers, and that different teachers can come together to create many useful resources for other teachers to use.
I appreciate that the trainer is approachable and willing to listen to our feedback and apply changes on the spot.
