Session 5: Raffles Girls’ School (Secondary) Learn@ Schools (Pre-Conference)

Session 5: Raffles Girls’ School (Secondary)
Address : 20 Anderson Road, Singapore 259978

Raffles Girls’ School (RGS) is a premier independent school for girls in Singapore that offers the Raffles Programme, an integrated programme that seeks to develop the Person, Thinker, Leader and Pioneer in every girl. RGS offers a ubiquitous computing programme known as RGS 1:1 that requires every student to be equipped with an Apple Macbook. This has transformed the learning environment into a technology enriched that enables students to access online resources, collaborate on tasks and create digital artefacts. This is seen in the Physics classroom, where students use trackers as part of their data collection process in experiments. In the English classroom, emphasis is placed on digital reading and digital literacies. In sum, RGS 1:1 offers a stimulating learning environment that catalyses higher order thinking, encourages creativity and fosters collaborative work.

Raffles Girls’ School has been actively collaborating with ETD for the past two years. We believe that the strong culture of innovation and the pervasive use of ICT would be an excellent platform to show our delegates.
